BIO
I became a photographer because I am curious about the world. I love to travel, discover, and explore; to observe and document moments that reveal the essence of a person or an environment.
As I was growing up, my family traveled quite a bit and photography was a way to enrich my own experience and to share my vision with others. When I first picked up a camera it was a satisfying fit. I loved the way I could see something with my eye, imagine how I wanted it to look as a photograph, and then use the camera to capture that image.
I got a degree in history and always thought I would follow in my family’s footsteps and wind up in academia but upon moving to NYC after college I discovered the possibilities of commercial photography. Right away I knew it was the perfect way to combine my love for visual storytelling with my curiosity and excitement about the world.
That was twenty years ago and since then I’ve been busy traveling and shooting and even made a move to Connecticut with my wife and two kids. We miss the bustle of the city but definitely enjoy the relative calm of gardening and chasing our chickens around the yard.
